Nick began to serve the Great New Haven community during his 1999-2000 academic year as an intern at APNH. Committed to providing HIV services to vulnerable populations Nick returned to APNH in 2003 as Director of Client Services.. In his role as Director of Client Services, Nick works with the entire Ryan White direct care team that includes medical case managers, the behavioral health team and providers of supportive services. Back in 2007, there was a radical shift in how the Federal Government required APNH to substantiate the Ryan White services that APNH provides. Clinical outcome measures including retention in medical care and improvement, or maintenance, of viral load had to be documented. There was one funder who was unsure if a community based ASO would be able to accomplish this. With Nick's guidance, support of APNH staff and the ability to instill confidence in his team, APNH successfully realigned how they provided services, strengthened collaborations with clinics, and expanded funding and services based on this success. Nick works tirelessly every day of the week to make sure all clients have access to high quality, relationship based, holistic care to inspire health and well-being and to empower people at risk of, or impacted by, HIV, substance use, mental illness and related conditions. Nick has been and continues to be a mentor to all direct service staff at APNH.
