Masonia Traylor, Founder at Lady BurgAndy, Inc.

Masonia B. Traylor is the mother of two beautiful children and was diagnosed with HIV in late 2010 while pregnant with her daughter. She has since dedicated and committed her life’s work and legacy as a compassionate HIV/AIDS Activist, Advocate, and Certified Speaker. She is the Founder/Executive Director of a tax exempt 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization Lady BurgAndy Inc. centering services for Black women and youth in underserved communities severely impacted by HIV in the SouthEastern region of the United States through programming and community. As Founder/Owner of Legacy Leadership Consulting Firm, She uses her subject matter expertise and collegiate academia in public policy, nonprofit leadership, and management to address organizational change through trauma informed care approaches, practices, and experiences, HIV perinatal transmission, and Public Health Advocacy. Masonia leveraged her lived and professional experiences and is now lead consultant staff member for grantee organizations funded by the University of Houston SUSTAIN program, a Gilead - COMPASS coordinating center with a focus on trauma informed care, mental health, harm reduction, and wellness. Always in high demand, Masonia has been featured on the cover and inside nationally branded magazines such as PEOPLE, TIME, National Geographic, ESSENCE, and on the National HIV brand magazine, Positively Aware. She also serves as a role model for HIV awareness and advocacy campaigns around the globe. For example, she serves as an Ambassador for her own Lady BurgAndy’s, She’s Positive, Heather Ivy, Inc an Atlanta based organization for its advocacy on behalf of black cisgender women living with HIV, and for two national HIV related communications campaigns CDC’s- Stop HIV Together and Kaiser’s- Greater Than AIDS. Masonia is also a global blogger for The Well Project where she serves as a Community Advisory Board Member. She holds the title of 2nd Vice Chair of the Metropolitan-Atlanta Ryan White Planning Council- Office of HIV Elimination. Masonia serves as a member for a number of national women and HIV organizations such as Positive Women’s Network-USA as well as a member for the National Council For Negro Women’s Executive Health Committee. Masonia is on a mission to help people diagnosed with HIV/AIDS live a life with a strong freedom from the heavy burden society imposes for knowing your status. She has helped over 100,000 youth with HIV prevention, impacted millions around the world, and would like to continue building communities of women living with HIV by reaching 1,000 Black Women living with HIV in the South.
