Joel Morales
Joél Junior Morales is the Director of Operation for the LGBT+ Center Orlando. Spearheading efforts to promote and empower the LGBT+ community and its allies through information, education, advocacy, and support. One of the Center Orlando’s biggest programs is its HIV Screening and Counseling. The Center serves roughly 800 people every single month in HIV testing and Case Management. Joél has been an active HIV Tester for over eight (8) years. He was awarded “Distinguished Victim Advocate 2016” by Florida State Attorney's office and recognized by the Governor with the “Florida Governor's Medal of Unity” for his work responding to the 2016 Pulse nightclub shooting. Joél is a Certified Trauma Professional; who has worked in all areas of social services, including victim services, relapse prevention, case management, substance abuse, and as mentioned HIV & AIDS care. He aims to continue his efforts through social justice and advocacy for the City Beautiful.
