Join the Thera Community Team for an important session, “Implicit Bias and Barriers to Accessing Healthcare,” led by Rev. Dr. Tommie Watkins, Assistant Professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. By the end of this session, participants will understand how implicit bias, stigma, discrimination, systemic inequities, and HIV criminalization laws shape healthcare experiences and HIV outcomes in Black communities. They will recognize the significance of National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day as a tool for education, prevention, and community engagement, and apply strategies to reduce bias while advocating for equitable, culturally responsive, and stigma-free HIV care.
