Linda Scruggs , Co-Executive Director at Ribbon

Ms. Scruggs is a visionary, a national leader, and a moral leader for women, men, families, and youth. She has lived with and worked in the HIV/AIDS community for 30 years. Ms. Scruggs serves the HIV/AIDS community as an AIDS educator, activist, and convener. Mrs. Scruggs brings experience working with HIV/AIDS, mental health, and other chronic disease communities. She has served on numerous committees and boards—nationally and internationally. She is a founding member of the Positive Women’s Network USA, the National Black Woman HIV Network. She served as a member of CDC/HRSA Advisory Committee on HIV, Viral Hepatitis, STD Prevention and Treatment (CHACHSPT) She is a registered Master Trainer and Licensed Professional Counselor and has developed and delivered training and capacity events for audiences of health professionals, community leaders, clergy, women, and youth. Linda has co-authored books, publications, and articles. As a thought leader, Linda is a highly requested as a registered consultant and subject matter expert for numerous private and federal agencies, such as U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA), HIV/AIDS Bureau’s (HAB) Ryan White Parts A, B, C, and D programs and the Maternal, and The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration (SAMHSA). Such examples note Linda’s accomplishments: presented before former President Bill Clinton, her work in HIV was highlighted by President Barrack Obama in July 2010, at the release of The National AIDS Strategy. In June 2011, ESSENCE Magazine featured The Scruggs family the 30th Commemoration Edition on HIV/AIDS, In 2012 she was a plenary speaker at the 19th International AIDS Conference, Washington, DC. In August 2012, Ms. Scruggs co-founding of the Ribbon Consulting Group, LLC (Ribbon). Ribbon is a national consulting firm whose mission is to improve community and resident health, especially for individuals with hidden disabilities and chronic health conditions. Ribbon believes we can enhance, rebuild, and restore individuals, organizations, and governments in promoting healthy communities
